About the Artist
Donald E. Reed is retired from high school teaching.
When he retired in 1992, he took up painting as a hobby.
Mr. Reed also traveled in his retirement. From his experience in traveling ,
he saw many beautiful landscapes which he was anxious to record .
Mr. Reed is married and has raised four children with the help of his wife Shirley.
He paints from his home in Kemptville and on his journies.
When he started painting 10 years ago, he enrolled at St. Lawrence fine arts program
where he graduated. His orginal media of choice was watercolour but recently has taken
a leaning towards acrylics and oils. He especially likes to do the underpainting in acrylic
with oils washes. His paintings hasbeen shown in many places of business
in Kemptville as well as local Art showings in the Kemptville area. He a member of the
North Genville Arts Guild and has particapted in all of their art exhabitions. His paintings
has been sold to many people throughout the province of Ontario.He also has paintings in a head office of a company.
